SCOIL AONGHUSA JNS RAISES ITS GREEN FLAG FOR LITTER AND WASTE
Scoil Aonghusa JNS, Balrothery, Tallaght raised its first Green Flag for Litter and Waste on Friday 27th June 2008.
Deputy Mayor of South Dublin County Cllr Eamonn Maloney attended the flag raising ceremony and he congratulated the staff and pupils at Scoil Aonghusa saying This flag is a symbol of all your hard work to make your school a cleaner and greener place. You are setting a great example to the rest of the community and everyone passing the school will see the green flag flying and know that this school cares about the environment.
To achieve the Green Flag for Energy the staff and pupils at Scoil Aonghusa JNS have been recycling, litter picking, native hedge planting and composting.
The Green Schools Committee is composed of pupils from all classes, the caretaker Pat Farrell, the Principal Ann Kelly and Pauline Doyle the Green Schools Coordinator.
