Mayor's Fund – Supporting Communities

The Mayor's Fund is a new community initiative introduced by Mayor Dermot Looney and Deputy Mayor Eamon Tuffy. Speaking at the launch in County Hall on Wednesday 25th September, Cllr. Looney said “the aim of the Mayor’s Fund is to provide financial assistance to support groups that play a vital role in improving the quality of life for those living and working in South Dublin and where a small amount of funding can make a significant difference”.

Councillors Looney and Tuffy have allocated a combined total of €10,000 from their allowances during their term of office for this new community fund. Cllr Tuffy added that the “themes for the fund were selected by myself and the Mayor and will benefit youth sport, older persons and environmental groups across the whole of South Dublin County”.

Please note that theMayor's Fund isseparate to the existing Community Grants Scheme run by South Dublin County Council. Applications will be considered by an independent panel selected by the Community Services Department. Grants of €250 and €500 will be made to successful applicants for projects in the South Dublin County area.

The application forms will be available through the Council’s community centre and library network and can be returned by post to the Community Services Department, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24.
