National Tree Week in South Dublin County
2nd –8th MARCH 2003

This is a national education programme that is run by the Tree Council of Ireland each year and South Dublin County Council as a Member supports it by running a series of educational talks and practical demonstrations in various schools around the county area.

This year 23 schools are involved and the programme begins with a launch on Monday 3rd March at Rathlawns N.S. at 9.15am.

Staff of the Council’s Parks Department give talks to the children in the schools and arrange for them to oversee and participate in the planting and care of the trees that are planted in their own school or in their local park. It means also that the children can be involved in the aftercare of the trees.

Enclosed find schedule of the schools who will participate in this years programme
