PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROPOSED JUNCTION UPGRADE:
MAIN STREET / JOHNSTOWN ROAD, RATHCOOLE

Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of the proposed provision by South Dublin County Council of the above scheme and a description of the Works follows:

The upgrade of the junction with kerb realignment to each side of Johnstown Road, creating a signalised T-junction layout to replace the existing Y-junction layout.

The Project includes the provision of:

- Traffic signals with pedestrian crossing signals on all 3 arms
- Approximately 140m of 1.5m wide new footpath
- Approximately 180m of existing footpath upgrade to 1.5m width
- Removal of existing traffic calming ramp on Johnstown Road adjacent to the junction
- Resurfacing the junction for approximately 40m back along Johnstown Road, 25m on the   west arm of Main Street and 45m on the east arm of Main Street
- Drop kerbs and tactile paving at the three pedestrian crossings
- Landscaping to South Dublin County Council Parks Department requirements

Details of the proposed scheme will be on display at:

a) South Dublin County Council Offices, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24, from 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am - 4.30pm on Friday.

b) South Dublin County Council, County Library, Tallaght, Dublin 24,from 9.45am - 8.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.45am - 4.30pm on Friday and Saturday.

c) Rathcoole Community Centre, Main Street, Rathcoole, Co. Dublin, from 9.00am - 10.00pm Monday to Friday and 12.00pm - 4.00pm on Saturday.

From Thursday 30th March 2006 until Thursday 4th May 2006.
